The new shows for Oceania Cruises were conceived and directed by Emmett Murphy. Technical Production, Multimedia, Projection and Lighting Design by Garrett Caine. Original musical arrangements by jazz composer and recording artist, Christian Tamburr. Choreography has been created by Broadway vetted Jessica Hartman and Jennifer Savelli. Costume Design by the legendary Mistinguett, Multimedia developed by TJ Mitchell. Scenic Design by Tom Cluff.

Broadway world recently announced showHive, Inc.’s suite of new shows, which were deployed onboard the vessels of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Ltd., including Oceania Cruises in the Spring of 2016. showHive founder, Emmett Murphy, stated, “Our commitment to pushing the boundaries of theatrical entertainment has encouraged the showHive creative team to develop unique theatrical experiences that will resonate with discerning audiences with sophisticated musical expectations.”

showHive’s newest suite of groundbreaking shows for Oceania Cruises was recently featured on the cruise ship entertainment and industry news website, Seatrade Cruise News. These dynamic shows have been playing to resounding ovations from audiences on board the Oceania Regatta and Sirena.

Oceania Cruises is making a significant investment to upgrade entertainment offerings fleet-wide beginning with Sirena, the newest ship, launching this week. Each vessel will feature a full roster of new stage shows, to be implemented during upcoming drydocks.

Oceania is leveraging the entertainment team at sister brand Norwegian Cruise Line to help develop a range of musical, theatrical and comedic productions for all its ships by spring 2017.

Beginning with its April 27 maiden voyage, Sirena will feature four musical spectaculars presented by accomplished singers and dancers and accompanied by a five-piece show band.

showHive® is seeking exceptional performing talent for production shows on board the Oceania Regatta. Six member cast, includes four singers and two dancers (one male, one female). The cast will present four 45 minute shows, two 3-5 minute “bumpers” and individual 20+ minute cabarets. The cast should appear as an attractive and visual cohesive group within the listed height requirements. Costumes will be elegant, formal and fashion forward – so healthy attractive, lean, fit physiques are preferred. Performers must be able to convey personality, audience connection and have deep understanding of storytelling and performance styles.

The shows will be focused on delivering intimate, authentic and unique performances in a cabaret style venue.

CONTRACT SCHEDULE:

STCW Training (Ship Safety): November 29th through Dec. 5th, 2015

Travel to Tampa: Dec. 27th 2015

Rehearsals begin: Dec. 28th, 2015

Travel to ship: Feb. 5th, 2016

DANCERS:
The dancers must compliment each other physically and have an appropriate height ratio as the couple will be performing as dance and ballroom “partners” throughout each of the shows and should be appealing and functional as a couple. The dancers will be performing as a couple throughout each of the shows requiring a strong and collaborative relationship and positive professional attitude towards each other. Both dancers will perform Cruise Staff Duties as well as Performances.

MALE DANCER – Union or Non union. Height 5’9 – 6. Age 20’s – 30’s.
Seeking professionally trained dancers, with strong technique in ballet, jazz, theater dance, tap and contemporary dance styles. Partnering and ballroom experience is necessary. (Overhead lifts will not be used as stage ceiling height will restrict.) Dancers must be athletic and attractive with an affinity for performing with personality and character in theatrical and high-energy commercial style production shows.

FEMALE DANCER – Union or Non union. Height 5’4 – 5’6. Age 20’s – 30’s.
Seeking professionally trained dancers, with strong technique in ballet, jazz, theater dance, tap and contemporary dance styles. Partnering and ballroom experience is necessary. SINGERS:
Seeking four excellent and versatile singers that have professional vocal training and performance experience. Singers should be able to sing in a variety of styles, with a focus on swing, Great American Songbook, 60s Pop-Rock, R&B and Jazz. The four singers will be featured as soloists, with some harmony singing. Music reading, excellent pitch and harmony singing is required. All singers will perform Cruise Staff Duties as well as Performances.

Seeking all vocal types, but typically seeking females with a pop belt range (top range at C6) and males with pop bari-tenor or tenor range. Falsetto may be required for some roles. Height requirements: females 5’3 – 5’7” males 5’7 – 6’0”.

**Each singer will also have the opportunity to perform a 20+ minute cabaret with the live band. Singers with existing cabaret shows are preferred, however, showHive will provide cabaret charts and direction for performers who do not have a cabaret.**
